GLEC VietnamFile Submission Guidelines

Dear student,


Thank you for your interest in the Global Leadership English Challenge Vietnam 2022.


As has been informed, the preliminary round will be open through an online platform designed by the international NGO associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC) Hope to the Future Association, the hosting institution of the GLEC. Please refer to the instructions below and submit the required documents within the deadline to make your application successful.

Any submitted documents through the platform will be evaluated by the GLEC evaluation committee, and the list of finalists will be announced on 16 May 2022.


When you log in to the platform, please put the exact details (capital letters & blanks DISTINGUISHED) you have submitted through the application form, or you may not be able to access. If you fail to log in, please inquire about your login details to us by sending an email to glec@hopetofuture.org.



[File Submission Guidelines]

  • Go to GLEC Online Platform. (URL: http://essay.gleader.org/vietnam/)
  • Read the instructions.
  • Log in with your personal details. (Full Name, Email Address, and Date of Birth (yyyymmdd))
  • Click the session and submit your files accordingly. If you are participating in both sectors (Speech and Essay), you should submit for both sessions.

    If you are a nominee, you are NOT REQUIRED to submit any essays.

  • Speech Script:
    Your script should include full contents for your speech, and you will be asked to memorize and present it without a script for the final round. (Talking points and summaries are not allowed.)

  • Voice Record File:
    Record your speech based on the written script. The speech must be equivalent to the script, and any changes are not allowed. Make sure to keep the time limit.
    (Elementary school (Grade 4-5) track: 3 min, Middle school (Grade 6-8) track: 4 min, High school (Grade 9-12) track: 4 min, University track: 5 min)

  • Essay:
    Make sure to keep the word limit (500~700 words), and further excess or deficit from 15~20 words will negatively affect your score.

  • The platform does not allow shortcuts and operating system functions like Ctrl+V, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Alt+Tab, etc. Do not attempt to copy and paste.
